Privacy Policy

1. About This App

Music Player is an iOS application that allows users to stream music from YouTube and access audio files stored in their personal Google Drive. The app does not require creating an account and does not operate its own user database.

2. Data We Collect

Music Player collects minimal data required for core functionality:

• Google Account information — name, email address, and profile picture, obtained via Google Sign-In only when you explicitly choose to connect Google Drive. This data is stored locally on your device only.
• Google Drive file metadata — file names and folder structure of your Drive, used to display your library in-app. This is never transmitted to our servers.
• App preferences — equalizer settings, selected language, and playlist data, stored locally on your device via Apple's SwiftData framework.
• Recently played history — stored locally on your device. Never synced or uploaded.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifier unless you sign in with Google.
• We do not collect location data, contacts, or browsing history.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics trackers.
• We do not store audio files or media from YouTube or Google Drive on our servers.
• We do not create user profiles or link your behavior across apps.

4. Google Drive Access

Music Player uses the Google Drive API and Google Sign-In to let you browse and stream audio files from your own Google Drive account. Specifically:

• Access is granted only when you explicitly tap "Sign in with Google" in the app.
• The app requests read-only access to your Drive files. It cannot create, modify, or delete any files.
• Your Google OAuth token is stored securely in your device's Keychain and is never sent to our servers.
• You can revoke access at any time via Google Account Permissions or by signing out inside the app.
• Music Player's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. YouTube Streaming

Music Player allows you to search and stream music from YouTube. Search queries are sent to our backend service, which uses yt-dlp to retrieve publicly available stream URLs from YouTube. We do not download or store YouTube audio files. All playback happens directly between your device and YouTube's servers.

YouTube usage is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Our Backend Service

The app connects to a backend server hosted by AQ Group to process YouTube URL extraction and music search. This server:

• Does not log or store personal user data.
• Receives only the YouTube video URL or search query you submit.
• Does not store audio content — it only returns temporary streaming URLs.
• Temporary stream URLs (from YouTube) expire automatically within approximately 6 hours.

7. Data Retention

All data (preferences, playlists, recently played, Google account info) is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. We retain no data on our servers that is personally identifiable to you.

8. Third-Party Services

Music Player integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Privacy Policy — covers Google Sign-In and Google Drive API
• Apple Privacy Policy — covers App Store, iCloud, and device-level services
• YouTube Terms of Service — covers YouTube content streaming

9. Children's Privacy

Music Player is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
